Good morning everyone,

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this.
My name is Claire, and I am currently pursuing a master’s degree in Clinical Psychology at the University of Kent, Canterbury. I am conducting research that focuses on the challenges faced by Asian children who have relocated to the UK with their parents or were born here to Asian parents. Specifically, I am exploring how these challenges influence their adaptation and impact their mental health.

As the UK is one of the top three countries with the largest numbers of foreign-born residents, and given that Asian children are often less likely to seek help for the challenges they face, many of these issues can go unaddressed.

The aim of my research is to contribute to the development of more effective support systems and interventions that will help these children adjust more smoothly to life in the UK. Families participating in the study will receive feedback on their child’s mental health outcomes.

The research has been approved by the University’s Psychology Ethics Review Committee (http://www.kent.ac.uk/psychology/ethics/). The interview will be conducted online and is expected to last approximately 45 minutes.

If Japanese families with children aged 8-12 years, who have moved to the UK or were born here, are interested in participating in this research, please feel free to contact me via email at st782@kent.ac.uk.

Apologies for any inconvenience this may cause, and I would greatly appreciate your kind consideration.
