‘Way of Tea’ presentation for schools
‘Way of Tea (Chado)’ presentation for educational/cultural organisations
British Museum hosts the demonstration of ‘Way of Tea (Chado)’, one of the traditional Japanese arts, and the Urasenke Foundation assists the events. Each time the demonstration is full with general public. From 2017, it will be possible to organise an exclusive demonstration for a specific school or cultural organisation, at 1pm or 4pm, before or after the general presentations. The 30-minute demonstration will include both the actual presentation of serving matcha tea and the simultaneous English guide on the Way of Tea and Japan’s traditional culture in general.
Schools attending are able to book a free locker and lunch space in the Museum’s school picnic area. To do so please contact The British Museum’s ticketing team on +44 (0)20 7323 8181 / tickets@britishmuseum.org. They will also be able to book other available schools programmes to compliment your trip.
This will make a great off-site study session. The possible dates are listed below. If you are interested in the exclusive demonstration of ‘Way of Tea’, please contact the e-mail below.
