Title: Medical Administrator (Part-time)
Contract: 32 hrs per week
Location: London
We are the UK’s largest early Phase Contract Research Organization (CRO) uniquely based within excellent facilities at two London University Hospital sites.
We are seeking a dynamic and highly organized administration assistant to support our team of Research Physicians (RP) on a daily basis. This will be a challenging role and needs someone who is always two-steps ahead. You will need to be adaptable to perform tasks that covers a widespread of platforms.
Roles and responsibilities of the Medical Administrator:
Assisting with management of doctor’s diaries/rota/annual leave.
Dealing with internal and external inquiries.
Liaising with other internal departments.
Arranging correspondence with volunteers and patients.
Assisting with booking of investigations.
Pursuing and collating medical reports (e.g. from consultations or investigations).
Assisting with filing.
Quality control (QC) of source documents completed by RPs namely documents associated with daily procedures; urgent eligibility QC checklist from screening with particular attention to documentation produced by new RP’s.
Ensuring the RP is available for the allocated consent slot and assisting with the request of ID labels from the Volunteer Recruitment team after consent.
Assisting with General Practitioner facsimiles and updating the VDB system at post blood donation.
Ensuring the RP office stationary supplies are stocked.
Ensuring daily a RP has the bleep.
Ensure at the start and end of shift the RP’s office is left in a tidy professional manner.
The role of the Medical Administrator will be managed by a named research physician.
As such, the right candidate must have a flexible attitude towards performing all tasks that are consistent with a Team Personal Assistant role and furthermore, should be an individual capable of taking on more responsibility as new opportunities arise.
Skills & Requirements
Proven track record of supporting at group level within a fast paced environment.
Extensive experience in multitasking for more than one person.
Confident character to liaise with senior people both internally and externally.
You will have the ability to remain calm and resilient under pressure and have fantastic organizational skills, as well as sound Microsoft Office experience, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Excellent eye for detail and ability to take initiative when necessary.
You will be a diligent and efficient individual with a good sense of humor and a hardworking, flexible and loyal work ethic willing to take on more responsibility as the role requires.
Knowledge of working in a medical environment; private or public.
Excellent administration skills and a keen interest in the medical field.
