Translation Project Manager- Japanese Speaking
Location: London or Glasgow Pay £30,000 to £35,000 per year.
An experienced Translation Project Manager is urgently sought to join a leading global company in the UK gaming industry. This position is perfect for someone who is looking to develop their project management skills further within a leading global company.
You will be the main point of contact for Japanese clients and will take full ownership of multiple projects from the start to the end. You will plan, implement, track the progress and meet projects deadline.
Duties and Key Responsibilities
Planning
• Define the scope of the project in collaboration with Management.
• Ensure project scoping is communicated back to the sales team in a timely manner.
• Schedule project completion using available resources to meet profitability margins.
• Review the project schedule, revise and update, evaluate risks and propose mitigation plans.
Production
• Oversees smooth and successful completion of projects with Senior Project Managers.
• Ensure adequate resourcing of the project, including a mix of in-house and in-territory linguists.
• Ensure that projects are delivered on time and within budget, with communication to customers and stakeholders, keeping them updated on progress and aware of any potential risks.
Team Management
• Ensure teams adhere to company policies and act appropriately.
• Proactively manages team dynamics and trains new members of staff as required.
• Review the quality of the work on a regular basis to ensure it meets the required standards.
• Support direct reports and liaise with other departments to ensure capacity plans are in place.
Financial Control
• Takes responsibility for the gross margin of the project including managing resources and quality.
• Take ownership of invoicing of projects for Receivables and Payables.
Requirements
• Communicate effectively in a business environment in written & spoken English and Japanese.
• Translation industry experience including CAT tools (e.g. Trados, memoQ, XTM, Plunet etc.)
• Proficient knowledge of business applications e.g. Microsoft Office, G-Suite
• Capable of leading teams, highly motivated, demonstrates proactivity
• Able to develop and influence new operational methods and innovations
