Japanese Proofreader for Video Games

Basic rate £8.63/hour. Total rate £9.67 with holiday pay.
Location, Brentford, London.

Are you fluent in Japanese? Do you love video games?
You can help millions of gamers worldwide to enrich their gaming experience! You will use your Japanese language skill to perform localisation testing for games from every genre. You will work on various platforms including mobile, PC, PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo and more! You will join dynamic multilingual teams to work on AAA games before their big market launch, while gaining invaluable knowledge and skills in game localisation and expanding your personal network.
The work is project-based. You are likely to work on various projects throughout 2020.

Role:
• Proofreading already translated Japanese texts and subtitles to ensure accuracy in translation, free of grammar and spelling mistakes
• Ensure consistency in terminology and imagery
• Reporting on translation errors by logging errors and providing suggestions for improvement
• Occasional ad hoc translation work
Basic requirements:
• Fluent in written Japanese with excellent level of grammar
• Basic IT skills, especially MS Office Excel.
• Great attention to detail.
• Passion for games and languages.
• Flexible and comfortable with working on a project-based basis.
• Must be living in London or within commutable distance. It is an office-based role.
