Startup Business Partner

Who we are:
We are a tech spinout from a prestigious UK university, the core of our business is biological sciences and until recently we have been solely research based. We’re now at the manufacturing stage and just about to launch our new product in the UK market.

The role:
We are looking for a business partner to launch our product in Japan. As such, you’ll be responsible for creating the Japanese operation from scratch and help grow the business from the ground up.

Responsibilities and duties:
We are very open to the candidate as we believe insight can come from many angles, however, there are a few things the right candidate must have;

Key skills:
Native Japanese speaker and have reasonable English
Entrepreneurial individual
Good planner and strong at marketing
Intelligence to help figure out market development
Participate in expansion activities (partnerships etc.)
Finding ways of doing things better and making things better
Understanding of business functions in a start-up
Good interpersonal skills
Aptitude in decision-making and problem-solving
While experience in science would be good it’s not a necessary requirement
