Weekend kitchen staff needed
No experience required
Job description:
* 3~10 hours a week, needed during the weekend cafe opening hours (Sat or Sun).
* Food preparation (Japanese Udon noodle, Sushi, Bento Box, Eel etc)
* Cleaning and maintaining the cafe to a pristine condition. This includes hoovering, mopping, toilet cleaning, and replacing bin liners as necessary.
* Occasional handling of cafe front end
Ideal skills:
* Knowledge of Japanese food and taste is essential. Someone who often cooks Japanese food at home is preferred.
* Knowing how to clean, or someone who has routine cleaning habits is a plus.
Living close (Travel within 30min).
* Be punctual. This means coming in before the shift starts. Attempting to come in on the dot mostly ends up being tardy.
* Flexible work hours. Our location is heavily dependent on the weather and train conditions. This means we can’t predict how busy it’s going to be, and your shift may fluctuate an hour or so on the day depending on how busy it is. We may also cancel your shift on the day if the rain or train conditions are bad.
* Keen eye to detail. The cups or tray may be dirty. These have to be spotted before being brought to the customers.
Benefits:
* Whilst we can’t offer you concrete work hours, you also have the flexibility to choose when to not work. If you have any concerns about wanting to take a long holiday or other commitments that would overlap, let us know.
How to apply:
If you are interested, please physically walk in and hand in your CV to the Cafe manager Yukari or Erika (10am~12am, 3pm~8pm. Avoid the lunch rush).
If the Cafe isn’t open, ring the red door facing Kew Garden station as we live upstairs.
