Fashion Designer Assistant Intern

JU-NNA was founded in London in 2019 by Jun Nakamura after the completion of his M.A. Fashion Design Womenswear from Istituto Marangoni. Drawing on his past working in the Japanese kimono industry and Tokyo Fashion, the brand focuses on combining traditional Japanese techniques with current and modern design. Jun incorporates traditional Japanese Shibori into his collections, working with artisans in Asia to put a modern twist on a classic traditional art.

Job description
The role would be to assist the design team. We are a small team and therefore the candidate would be required to work flexibly as the everyday task varies. This will enable the candidate to gain various technical skills and experience the development and process of an emerging brand.

Responsibilities will include: supporting the design team with design research, organising and labelling materials, organising and updating the linesheet time by time, assisting with pattern development, cutting fabrics, finishing garments, running errands when necessary, assisting with amending graphics and excel spreadsheet.

This position is for a work placement and unpaid.
Requirements :
- Good knowledge/experience of cutting fabric, garment construction, and pattern cutting
- Professional, proactive, and honest attitude
- Basic knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Microsoft Excel, and computer literacy
