Who Are We?
Kimiko is a well-established food manufacturing business specialising in Japanese Food and sushi based in London. Due to expansion, we are seeking a talented and experienced Chef Manager specialising in Japanese cuisine to join our team and lead our Japanese hot food and sushi retail outlet at the University of Birmingham.
The Chef Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of food preparation, ensuring the delivery of authentic and high-quality Japanese dishes, managing kitchen staff, and maintaining a safe and organised kitchen environment. The ideal candidate should possess excellent culinary skills, expertise in Japanese cuisine, strong leadership qualities, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences.

Main Responsibilities Will Include:
• Ensure the consistent preparation, presentation, and taste of all dishes, maintaining high standards of quality.
• Manage inventory levels, order supplies, and maintain a cost-effective approach to kitchen operations.
• Oversee food preparation, cooking, and plating to maintain an efficient workflow and timely service.
• Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations, maintaining a clean and hygienic kitchen environment.
• Recruit, train, and mentor kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to enhance their culinary skills.
• Delegate tasks effectively, promoting teamwork and productivity among kitchen personnel.
• Conduct regular performance evaluations, addressing any areas of improvement and recognising exceptional performance.

• Ensure compliance with all health and safety standards, including HACCP, to guarantee a safe and healthy kitchen environment.
• Working closely with the Head Office in London to ensure a smooth and efficient operation.
What We Are Looking For?
• Proven experience as a Chef Manager or similar leadership role in a high-volume culinary environment.
• Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
• Ability to manage and lead a diverse team, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
• Exceptional organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with staff, customers, and suppliers.
• Creative mindset with a passion for exploring new culinary trends and techniques.
