About Dear Asia London
Dear Asia is the premium school for Asian languages and cultures in London. Our key languages are Japanese, Korean, and Chinese.
Requirements
- Native level proficiency in Japanese is required; bilingual proficiency in Korean or Chinese is a plus
- Excellent English communication skills are essential
- Solid academic background with degree(s) in business, education, linguistics or other social studies
- At least 2 years of experience teaching Japanese
- Naturally confident on camera or experienced with on-camera work
- Self motivated with a strong commitment to delivering high-quality work
- A genuine team player with a strong sense of accountability
- Must have full working right in the UK for at least 1 year
- Availability to work on Saturdays is required
- Main Teaching responsibilities
Main Teaching responsibilities
- Develop our Japanese learning programs in line with established guidelines
- Gather feedback from teachers and students to refine and improve the programs
- Manage program delivery timelines while maintaining accuracy and creativity
- Teach online lessons and in-person lessons at our London school to both classes and private students, with teaching comprising 20% of your working hours
- Represent Dear Asia in video lessons—research and prepare your own scripts, while managing your on-screen performance under the direction of our content production team
Learning management responsibilities
- Assist the Learning Manager with weekly student name lists, class timetables, room bookings, and evening routines
-Handle relevant student inquiries, placement tests, and provide learning support
- Oversee teacher recruitment and training for the Japanese department
Other ad hoc tasks
Other ad hoc tasks
- Support the planning and execution of school events and corporate functions
- Contribute to social media content creation, from idea to production
