SSA (Sake Sommelier Association) is seeking a candidate who is passionate and motivated with educational matters.
Ideal candidates will possess the following qualities:
A background in restaurant/hotel - particularly as a Sommelier/Head Waiter; or in drinks retail/trading. An interest or professional experience in sake.
- Passionate and motivated with all educational matters.
- Strong communication skills and experience with writing professionally.
- Seasoned presenting skills. Enthusiastic about communicating with audiences worldwide.
- A strong command of English is essential (spoken & written).
- Comfortable working in a small, tight-knit team. Great time management, particularly for the courses & events.
- Interest in Japanese culture is a benefit
Position Details:
- Working directly under and assisting the Head of Education, helping to manage preparation & presentation of the SSA's courses.
- Organising updates on our courses internationally and checking in with various students on our longer-term courses.
- The role will require you to be available on some weekends to assist and support the Education Department, with an aim of moving forward to providing training yourself and developing our international network.
- Further opportunities to advance and be a part of other SSA events, like the Sake Sommelier of the Year or one of our regional Sake Challenges.
Job Types: Part-time *Flexible working hours of approximately 10 hours per week.
Schedule: Weekend availability
Education: A-Level or equivalent (preferred)
Experience: Catering/Drinks Industry: 1 year (preferred)
Work Location: Hybrid remote in London
