Job Description:

Are you as passionate about Basque cheesecake as we are? We started La Maritxu just two years ago, baking these delectable treats right from our home kitchen. The overwhelming love and support from our community led us to open our shop in November 2023.

In just a few months since our shop's inauguration, we've witnessed an incredible surge in demand and interest. As a testament to the exceptional quality and flavour of our Basque cheesecakes, our customers have become an integral part of our journey.

Job Overview

We are looking for a hardworking and dedicated Kitchen Porter to join our growing team. This person will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen by maintaining cleanliness, supporting the chefs, and helping with general kitchen tasks. This is a fast-paced environment where reliability, attention to detail, and a positive attitude are essential.

Duties

Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen areas, including equipment, work surfaces, floors, and storage areas.
Wash dishes, utensils, baking trays, and kitchen tools efficiently and to a high standard.
Assist with basic food preparation and packaging when required.
Receive and organise deliveries, rotating stock and ensuring proper storage.
Remove waste and recycling following health and safety guidelines.
Support the kitchen team with general tasks to ensure operations run smoothly.
Follow all hygiene, health, and safety procedures at all times.
Requirements

Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and stay organised under pressure.
Reliability and punctuality — this role is essential to the kitchen workflow.
Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for long periods.
Previous experience in a kitchen environment is helpful but not essential.
A positive, team-focused attitude.
