Baker / Morning Production Chef Wanted

Artisan Café & Micro-Bakery

We are looking for a strong, reliable and experienced Baker to join our growing café and micro-bakery.

This is an early morning production role for someone who can work independently, move quickly, stay organised, and take real pride in producing beautiful, fresh bakery items every morning.

Hours: 5:00am – 12:00pm
Days: 5 days per week
Location: Hackney Road, East London
Start: Immediate / as soon as possible

We are looking for someone who can help us produce a high-quality daily counter including items such as:

Muffins

Cookies

Cinnamon buns

Pastries

Cakes

Savoury bakes

Prep for café dishes and sandwich production

The right person must be confident with baking, food preparation, cleanliness, and working to a daily production list. You must be able to come in early, start without needing to be chased, and make sure the counter is ready, full and beautiful before the morning rush.

You must be:

Experienced in baking or bakery production

Fast, organised and clean

Reliable with excellent timekeeping

Able to work independently from 5am

Confident following recipes and production lists

Able to manage multiple bakes at once

Serious about food hygiene and kitchen standards

Calm under pressure

Positive, respectful and professional with the team

This role is not suitable for someone who needs constant supervision. We need someone who understands that the early morning shift is extremely important to the business and that the bakery counter must be ready on time every day.

Duties will include:

Preparing and baking morning products

Mixing, shaping, portioning and finishing bakery items

Following recipes accurately

Keeping the kitchen clean and organised during and after production

Labelling, storing and rotating ingredients correctly

Supporting prep for sandwiches, salads and café food

Communicating clearly with management about stock, waste and production needs

Maintaining excellent hygiene and safety standards
