At Tokyoesque we are a global market research agency specialising in creating cross-market connections. Most of our projects involve the Japan market, both entering into and expanding out of Japan from Europe. Our mission to connect markets around the world.
We are also pushing numerous new project development initiatives with the goal to productize our offerings.
The Role:
We seek an experienced Agency Sales Director to join us to help expand and scale our business. The candidate must have a passion to connect markets and enjoy understanding the ‘big picture’ from a cultural perspective in order to enable client success — how can we create opportunities across markets and utilise cultural curiousity to push new ideas and innovations? We are seeking someone with an outstanding track record of B2B selling in the agency space and must have built and led a successful sales team.
The nature of a young business means the right candidate will be flexible, have a desire to continually learn and be prepared to get their hands dirty being involved in multiple aspects of the business. The role will consist of the following:
Develop a world class sales strategy for Tokyoesque
Communicate and implement this strategy among the rest of the team
Lead sales to major branded accounts from initial contact, through to closing, legals and managing go-live
Work with CEO to define sales strategy and execution
Commit to and achieve revenue targets
Report agreed budget and forecasts to the CEO
Manage entire CRM process and implement effective sales processes and KPI’s
Oversee implementation of new projects along with Head of Innovation
Understand prospects’ business needs and personal responsibilities/goal
The Person:
2 years plus senior sales experience selling into a variety of businesses
Creativity and strategic thinking in putting together pitches and proposals
Highly motivated, driven and organised, with a desire to work within a multi-cultural team
Confident in leading pitches, talks and sitting on industry panels
Excellent oral and written communicator with the ability to establish credibility with executives
Established personal network of contacts within either Japan or other global markets
Experience in both the start up + corporate world in Europe
Highly analytical and financially aware; fully conversant with ROI based propositions
Attention to detail
Experience of building, leading, managing and motivating a team
Confident team player with the ability to lead and motivate others
