Head of Operations - Market Research Agency

At Tokyoesque we are a global market research agency specialising in creating cross-market connections. Most of our projects involve the Japan market, both entering into and expanding out of Japan. Our mission is to connect markets around the world. We are also pushing numerous new project development initiatives with the goal to productize our offerings.

The Role:

We seek an experienced Head of Operations to join us as we expand and scale. The candidate must have a passion to connect markets, as well as a healthy dose of cultural curiousity and sensitivity.

Reporting to the CEO, you will play a pivotal role in this transformational phase of our growth. You will be highly motivated to use your experience to deliver best-in-class, scalable and continuously improving operations, processes and policies. We are seeking someone with an outstanding record of keeping track of projects and infusing enthusiasm into teams, who can be the person who runs the office and handles team questions on our day-to-day project assignments.

The right candidate will have experience dealing with multi-cultural teams and be able to think strategically as well as being detail-orientated.

The nature of a young business means the right candidate will be flexible, have a desire to continually learn and be prepared to get their hands dirty being involved in multiple aspects of the business.

The role will consist of:

Owning key internal processes, including Finance, HR and Legal
Responsible for the definition and maintenance of the standards of project management and process.
Support the successful delivery of programs undertaken by Tokyoesque through effective facilitation, tracking and reporting.
Assist with advising managers and teams on the best use of project management disciplines and approaches and act as the first point of contact for any program management queries within Tokyoesque.
Work closely with the CEO to set individual team goals and targets in line with Company goals and organise Team Days and one-on-one feedback sessions.
It is also expected to think and act in the wider context and interests of Tokyoesque. For example, contribution to the development and delivery of overall strategy, marketplace and Member outcomes, innovation and cultural development.
Stepping in and out of research projects to provide extra support, if needed.

The Person:

4+ years experience in Operations or Project Management related roles
Highly motivated, driven and organised, with a desire to work within a multi-cultural team
Have a natural inclination to identify and fix inefficient processes
Have an impressive attention to detail and be able to demonstrate a track record of implementing best-practice processes
Have an excellent understanding of Finance, HR and Legal processes
Past experience working with cultural differences in business, especially in your team
Experience with the Japan market is a big plus
