Job Description

Butterfly Consulting are a media agency working with leading children’s and educational international book and magazine publishers seeking to expand their international business.
Butterfly have worked with the Japanese market for over 20 years. The Japanese intern will support our full time Japanese consultant to service existing Butterfly clients and expand our market share.
The ideal intern is a Japanese speaker with excellent written and spoken English and Japanese.
The person will translate marketing information into Japanese and help with further duties including updating the customer database, market research and finding new companies to work with in Japan.
Butterfly operates from a home-based office. Dorian Silver has owned media businesses for 25 years and has used interns in all businesses.
The home office includes two sausage dogs, so a liking of small dogs is useful though not essential.
Unpaid position, expenses for travel and lunch supplied.

Qualifications

No formal marketing qualifications are required.
The right person is a good conversationalist with an interest in the media, an attention to detail and who enjoys using the phone.
A good command of English and Japanese, both written and spoken is essential.
A command of basic computer programmes is required and the ability to organise and research information.
