Hello, my name is Thomas and I am an experienced English teacher.

I have taught English both in Japan and the UK, and have extensive experience in teaching Japanese students. My students have been doctors, pilots, engineers, lawyers, and businessmen.

IELTS Lessons (£35p/h):

Speaking Test: I can help you to speak more naturally, more fluently, and with fewer mistakes. Learn how to give full and interesting answers to Part 1 questions, and the key to giving good monologues in Part 2. More importantly, practise taking the speaking test, get feedback from a teacher and look at what can be improved, and then practise again!

Academic Reading Test: I can help you improve your strategy for taking the reading test, and give you tips and tricks for specific question types, such as True/False/Not Given, Matching Headings to Paragraphs, and Sentence Completion. Learn how to use your time most effectively, and get feedback on your answers from an experienced teacher.

Academic Writing Test: Learn the structure, useful vocabulary and grammar forms you need to answer Task 1 and Task 2 on the IELTS writing paper:

Task 1: Learn the key vocabulary and grammar to answer these questions properly; not just the common graphs, charts, and tables, but also the rarer map and process questions.

Task 2: Learn how to correctly structure your essays, link your ideas together, and support your ideas with reasons and examples. Learn how to build a solid paragraph, and how to make your introduction and conclusion count.
