I’m sure you have already discovered that there is a wide variety of English accents both in the UK and around the world.

The current lesson’s focusing on the Geordie accent. Other accents will follow.

Is it true that the Geordie accent is the most difficult English to understand? Well, even some British people have trouble with the Geordie accent as you can see in the photos attached – one court case actually had to be stopped because no-one could understand the defendant’s Geordie accent and it was said that Cheryl Cole was dropped from the US X Factor because of her Geordie accent!

In this lesson you’ll have a chance to test your listening skill and learn how you’ll be able to spot a Geordie accent. You can also practice speaking like a Geordie! This’ll make your next trip to Newcastle a lot more fun.

This has been set up as a group Zoom lesson, because I think it’s more fun to study this with other people and it also means it’ll be cheaper, but if you want to study on your own you can contact me for a private lesson.

The basic Zoom group lesson will be approximately 35 minutes and the cost is £5 per person. The group size will be between 4 and 8 people. The day and time is currently flexible and will depend on the availability of the group members. If you are interested, let me know your availability and as soon as the minimum group size is met, the lesson will be scheduled.
