Hello! My name is Danny. I was born and educated in London. I am a very experienced teacher of English as a Foreign Language, and am qualified to Diploma level. I offer individual private lessons in the areas of Acton, Ealing and Shepherd’s Bush, at your home or office, on a day and at a time that suits you. I can meet your learning needs whether you simply wish to improve your speaking skills, work on your pronunciation/accent reduction, develop your range of vocabulary, use grammar more accurately or prepare for an examination. My approach is communicative and learner-centred, and the great advantage of individual tuition is the opportunity to address individual interests and learning needs, as well as to study at the pace which is most appropriate for the client. I emphasise phonology in particular, giving guidance and correction on pronunciation so that my clients can be more effective and more confident in spoken English. I am also a specialist in academic writing skills, and can guide you to the score you need in IELTS Writing.

Depending on your requirements, I can focus on the skills that you need in business (e.g. presentations, meetings, telephoning, negotiations) or in the social sphere, such as small talk and current topical conversation. Similarly, I can assist school pupils (aged 10 and above) with the English skills they require during the school day, socially and for all their school work.

I can select and produce materials for your lessons, according to your needs, or we can use a coursebook or other materials of your choosing if you prefer. I will ask you to complete a level test before or soon after your first lesson. I will be happy to prepare you for success in a wide range of examinations, including:
• IELTS
• Cambridge General English exams (Preliminary/First/Advanced/Proficiency)
• Cambridge Business English exams (Business Preliminary/Vantage/Higher)
• TOEIC

Please note that I do *not* offer tuition for TOEFL or Eiken

My fees are competitive, and are payable in arrears. This allows total flexibility, as no payment in advance is required, and you may alter your timetable as necessary, subject to my availability. You are only invoiced for the lessons actually taken, and the rate varies according to the number of lessons you receive (see below). If two or more members of the same family or same company take lessons on a single account, then the multiple-lesson rate applies! Please note that, once a lesson has been booked, same-day cancellations are chargeable. Invoices are emailed every Monday for the preceding week (a week is Monday to Sunday), and payment can be made by PayPal or bank account transfer.
