~Kazuki Shibata~
Kazuki Shibata is a 27-year-old fine artist born and raised in Fukuoka, Japan.
He works primarily with cutout, collage and acrylic paint. His abstract but cohesive paper cutout images are created by an arrangement of complicated shapes, reinforcing the expressive meanings of the color relationships between colors.
While attending Seinan Gakuin University in Fukuoka, he learned mainly about fine arts as an exchange student in University of Rhode Island in U.S.
He took a class of color expression studies and created the paintings by the combination of color and non-representational paper cutout shapes for expressing abstract factors like emotions, sensory or physical conditions, which unites us all.
He is fascinated with turning his thought and imaginary world into his art works and realizes that abstract art could make it possible to share everything with everyone even if it is beyond words or description.
He finds inspiration from nature like sea, forests and mountains. He always looks for the emotional movements to make his art works wherever he goes. He often uses the flower or plant motifs, transformed into products of his vivid imagination.
He also takes photographs of his paintings for his journey record all over the world. They look like blending in with the real scenery and bringing out the expressions of his paintings.
In 2013, His painting was selected to a student exhibition as honorable mention in University of Rhode Island in U.S. In 2016, He had a solo exhibition in his hometown Fukuoka after traveling around Japan.
In 2017, he decided to take a chance as a freelance fine artist in London and participated in a few group exhibitions in The Brick Lane Gallery in London. And now he is exhibiting his new paintings in Jona Quest Art in Greenwich, London.
He is currently influenced by the Europe culture and making his works.
