A tea ceremony school in Asakusa, Tokyo, called Senshin-ann Tea Ceremony School, has begun selling Tea Room ZerO.
The "Tea Room ZerO" a tea room made of cardboard, is now available. It is an easily assembled tea room for home use, but it has a "nijiriguchi (small door)" and is furnished with attention to detail.
This assembled tea room can easily be used to create your own space in your home as a remote work space or as a meditation room for refreshment.

It is compact, with an area equivalent to two tatami mats and a weight of 38 kg, but it has a "nijiriguchi" of 80 cm in length and width, which reminds us of the spirit of the tea ceremony of "getting rid of miscellaneous thoughts and titles by oneself. The tatami mats are made by Morita Tatami mat maker, which was used in the climax scene of "007: No Time to Die," to be released in 2021, and on the H&M runway at the Paris Collection.

The hanging scroll was written by the abbot of Saiko-zenji Temple (Myoshinji School of Rinzai Zen Buddhism, 1456). Written on the scroll is the Zen phrase "Essentially nothingness," which is closely associated with the tea ceremony. Any living thing is born from zero (nothingness) and returns to zero (nothingness). To deepen nothingness is to become one with the universe.

The "incense" that creates the atmosphere of the tea room is not fire, but rather a special blend of zuko (lacquered incense) combined with stones from Awaji Island, which the Kojiki tells us was the first island in Japan. The outside of the walls are an off-white color that blends well with modern homes, and only materials that are naturally reusable are used in the tea room, making it easy to use within the home and environmentally friendly.

Crowdfunding for the Tea Room ZerO has begun for the entire world, including the United States, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.

The tea room ZerO was developed by the Senshin-ann Tea Ceremony School based on the voices of people who started learning the tea ceremony and felt comfortable in a tea room and wished they had a tea room at home. It is being developed with an eye toward overseas expansion as a space for healing and meditation, and its future expansion is attracting attention.
